COMPARING KINDLE FIRE VERSUS NOOK TABLET

Amazon launch of Kindle Fire has created rivalry in the market. It seems the Kindle Fire launch did not go well with Amazon arch rivals Barnes & Noble Inc, who later introduced Nook Tablet to fight Kindle Fire.

The tablet market is going to get heated up with the Kindle Fire, iPad and now Nook tablet as well iPad which had been launched earlier.

The Nook tablet has tried to outsmart Kindle Fire where possible and below are key similarities of the tow device that will change 2011 Christmas shopping.

Barnes & Noble Inc specs for the new Nook Tablet are targeted towards muscling market share from Kindle Fire even before Kindle ships its first hardware.

Let’s start with the price, Amazon Kindle Fire will retail at US$ 199 and Barnes & Noble Inc Nook tablet will trade at US$ 249. In price Amazon is 50 dollars cheaper. I don’t know how this is going to affect the market but let’s wait and see.

Nook Tablet makers did not even try to hide when it came to the screen, they copied Kindle Fire’s 7 inch color screen and the Wi-Fi only connections.

Nook designers made their hardware less weight, with the Nook Tablet weighing 14.1 ounces compared to Kindle Fire which weighs 14.6 ounces, the difference is not what I would call significant and I don’t think the consumer will reap much benefit from the 0.5 ounces.

The selling point for Nook Tablet will be the processor but for US$ 50 more! I don’t see why I should back on that, besides; Kindle Fire will be hanging because it has less speed.

With Kindle Fire hitting the market in a day, let’s see how it’s going to be.
